Tonight I find myself doing what I always told myself I would never do....giving in to my 3-year-old's demand to have Ramen noodles for dinner despite the fact I had created a very wonderful looking...not to mention quite tasty....lasagna! My older kids will tell you that I have always been very cruel when it comes to dinner and I have always told them "This is not a restaurant, you do not get to place an order.." going as far as forcing Blaze to gag down taco salad, being fully aware that he hates lettuce! How cruel am I!??!
I always told myself that I would not favor my younger kids, as I felt that I was so incredibly wronged growing up the oldest of 4, with two of us being older and two being much younger (referred to as "The Little Ones" while growing up) and feeling like The Little Ones never had as many responsibilities as I and that they "always" got their way. Now I find myself saying to my older kids...."Don't you think you could just share that toy?" but when Kolt releases his ear-piercing scream when someone messes with his new toy, it's "Geez, you guys, just give him his toy and leave him alone!" It seems now that I will do anything to keep from hearing that chilling sound, which I'm sure he is now well aware he can release this sound and find himself happy within the next 10 seconds! I really did try to hold out on the dinner thing, but after hearing "I want soupy" accompanied by the occasional "that stuff is yucky" about 100 times, I just couldn't take it anymore. So now we know who the real boss is in our house!
(note the delicious looking lasagna in the background!)

October 12, 2007 at 2:52 PMI love it! Isn't it funny how we do that? Michelle Lowell confessed to buying Virginia a Halloween costume for this year and she has NEVER bought her kids costumes because she of course makes them. Well, she couldn't say no to her sweet baby!!!- Holly said...
October 12, 2007 at 5:55 PMYou terrible mom! I would never do anything like that. I never mix Chloe's milk with half chocolate so that she will drink it. I never leave the tomatoes out of only Isaacs salad, and I never let Parker have fruit snacks for breakfast just so that he will eat something. Furthermore, I never will. I am lovin ya!, -Holly- Rob said...
