STUDENT OF THE MONTH!

Today Blaze got a Student of the Month award at school for "Academic Achievement." He was so cute because he was actually surprised. In the past, his teachers would send a note home around student of the month time of the month saying "To the Parents of Blaze" and since he doesn't get into trouble at school, he would always know what it was for. This time, though, his teacher called me and told me it was a surprise and he sure was. He didn't even see us in the multipurpose room until after his name was called and I went up to take the picture. We really are very proud of him. He is awarded Student of the Month quite a bit and has a nice collection of pendants on the wall in his bedroom. He really does work hard as well as having natural intelligence and capabilities. It's really interesting because he reminds me a lot of myself in that whatever it is he decides he is going to do, he wants to do his best at it. I'm so grateful for the school that my boys go to and the encouragement they receive there to be the best they can be in both academics and in their community. Mrs. Bishop knows each and every one of her "Tigers" (as she likes to call them) and she truly does love them. When they have their Student of the Month assemblies, she gives each child who gets an award a huge hug and she is genuinely thrilled for all of them! I know when I was in school, I didn't even want to see my principal walking toward me in the hallway, let alone give him a hug! I'm just so glad my kids have had a great school "family" with great teachers who they know love them!
