Isn't "Tagging" Illegal?

OK...I guess I've been "tagged," so here are 6 things that you may or may not have known about me.

I am dutifully posting the rules: A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves. C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asks them to read your blog.

1. I grew up in a small town in northern W
yoming. "Small" would actually be the word that the rest of the world would use, because by Wyoming Standards, it's actually a pretty good size. My home town of Lovell actually dwarfs the neighboring towns of Cowley and Byron (boasting about 500 residents each) with a healthy population of around 2100! Wyoming is the most beautiful place in the world to me. All the palm trees and sand in the world can't compare to the beauty of the mountains of the Big Horn Basin. I really loved it there, but like they say, "You don't know what you got, 'til it's gone!"

Here it is (top), my hometown of Lovell...population 2131...one of my cousins lived in the yellow house, and my mom worked at the Sugar Factory at the end of the street (the big tall white thing)...and it's kind of hard to see, but the blue-green sign on the right side of the street is the Hyart Theater, where we could go see a movie either on Friday or Saturday for $2.50 if we could convince the lady at the booth we were under 12!!

2. I got married when I was just 17 years old. The story goes: Boy's truck gets wrecked. Boy needs new truck. Girl's dad has truck for sale. Boy buys Girl's dad's truck. Boy sees Girl's picture in Girl's mom's wallet. Boy asks Girl out. Boy and Girl fall in love, get married, have 4 kids, blah, blah, blah...

3. I worked at a car hop after school called "The Scoop" (minus the roller skates). Cars would drive in and order and I took their orders over the little speaker box and then hustled on out to their cars with their food I made a generous $2.35 per hour plus tips at this job, plus one free meal per shift!

4. I've only flown twice in my entire life, both times to the same destination. The first time it was when I was 13 years old and I flew from Billings, Montana (the closest large airport) to Kansas City to spend the summer with my grandparents in Topeka, Kansas. The second time was just this past spring (at the age of 33) and I flew from Palm Springs to Kansas City to surprise my baby sister at her wedding reception.

5.
I love baking. I love the way it makes my home *feel* when I bake cookies or muffins or brownies in a nice clean kitchen. The smells and warmth fill the house and it just feels so cozy and comforta
ble. I also love to give my "goods" away as gifts. I really feel that it is a very personal gift when I give away things that I have made and I likewise always feel so blessed and grateful to receive baked or homemade gifts from others. One of my favorite things to bake has become my Holiday Cherry Pies...mmmmm! Since it is not quite Thanksgiving yet, I don't have a pie on hand for a picture, but I will definitely post the pictures when I make them.

6. I am hopelessly embedded in another world called Genoa City, Wisconsin. I think that it is genetic as Y&R was conceived a mere month after I was and my mom started watching the show from day #1! I have grown up with all the characters and know their lives pretty well, especially if something significant happened to them during the summer. Y&R, as I'm sure other soaps do, have special "teen" based story lines during the summer when there's no school to stop us from watching every day. The advent of VCR's with timer record was definitely helpful in solving my problem of school year withdrawal..once school started again, we could set the timer to record (actually, I think my mom was probably recording them every day at this point) at 10:00 a.m. each and every day. The only problem was if someone took your tape out of the VCR and didn't replace it (or if Mom took it up to her room to hog it all to herself)! GRRR! But now we are well advanced into the days of DVR and I don't have to miss an episode...although I do get busy and I am currently almost a whole month behind on the goings on of Genoa City society, partially because Sierra gets mad at me when I watch too many episodes without her....I know, I know, I have passed the gene on to my daughter, and she will forever more be invested in the lives of the Newman-Abbot-Chancellor-Carleton-Winters-Baldwin-Fisher gang!
Okay, so there you have it...some wonderfully trivial information about me! Since everyone has already been tagged...the only ones I have left to "tag" are my Aunt Robyn, my cousin Ranee', Mom, and my friend Jana.

What a great trip down memory lane! Yes, this is the mom who got her child hooked on a television show 34 years ago. But if that's the worst "bad" habit we have, I think we're both doing pretty good.
    Love Grandma B.

Your boy meets girl, married at 17, blah blah blah story was my absolute favorite. It curls my toenails when people are just so meant to be together like that.

I love baking too; there really is nothing better than fresh baked cookies!
