La Vida Loca De Flores

Well, it's another day at the McCallum! Today I went with Blaze's class to see the Pacifico Dance Company. They were really wonderful. They perform a "history" of dance of the Southwest/Mexico, starting with an Indian dance and ending with a modern type square dance. The women wear the most beautiful Mexican dresses that they whirl and twirl around. They also had a guy who did rope tricks/danced with a lasso, which is something new that they have added. (I saw this show a couple of years ago also and it was still super the second time around!) It was also Kolt's very first trip to the theater. Since all of his friends were busy today, he got (had) to come with us on the field trip. Blaze's teacher was very nice and said that it was okay to go ahead and let him watch the show. Otherwise, I would have had to find something to do for an hour while the kids were in the theater. But, anyway, it worked out really well, and Kolt loved the show! It was so cute to see his face light up when he saw the pretty girls twirl their fancy dresses. One dance was a sort of "courting" dance and at the end they put their faces together as if they were kissing (I don't think they were really kissing) and Kolt turned around and looked at me with a mixture of shock and disgust on his face! I just had to laugh, he is just so cute!















Blaze got to choose his friends to ride in our truck with us and this is a picture of them after the show.
