Our Trip, Part I

So we headed out on Thursday morning at around 10:30 a.m. (almost 3 hours later than I had planned!) with full tummies, a full trailer, truck loaded up with kids, blankets, and food, and a full tank of gas to the tune of $180! YIPES! For the first leg of our trip, we wanted to make it up to Springville, UT, to spend a couple of days with my friend Mary and her family (Mary's daughter Kelsey is also Sierra's close friend), who I haven't seen for about 2 years. I figured it was going to be about a 12 hour drive with pulling the trailer and frequent stops for the kids, but the kids were really great and even with the trailer slowing us down a bit, we made it there in just about 11 hours! It was a really good trip. The kids were really good and got along great even though our usual trip saver, the DVD player, was on the fritz due to Blaze jamming a movie in when there was already one in there! So without endless movies to watch, the kids stayed entertained the old fashioned way....coloring, reading, playing, and of course just looking out the windows and enjoying the ride!
