My BFF Angie

3 years ago, Angie had been my neighbor for 2 years and I, being the way I am, hadn't said so much as "Hello" to her in all that time. Then, by a simple twist of fate, our girls (Marissa and Sierra) were placed on the same softball team, so even though I had lived across the street from her (a mere 50 yards, if that) for 2 years, now we were forced by the nature of sporting events to sit on the same set of bleachers, cheer for the same plays, and unanimously cringe at bad calls by the umpire. Sierra had to point out to me one day, "The lady you're sitting next to is our neighbor." Talk about being so oblivious and wrapped up in my own world...I had no clue! We began with some conservative "Hi, how are you"s and worked up to "Did you see that call?...looked like a strike to me!" and carpooling for practices and games. Just a few short conversations revealed that not only did we live on the same street, but we had the same number of children, 3 of which are the same age (Sierra-Marissa, Blaze-Andrieu, Jett-Jolie, and she has one older, Bernay, and I have one younger, Kolt). Once this fact was discovered the three "sets" became practically inseparable, and Angie and I (more Angie than I) began making the "difficult" trek across 25 yards of hot asphalt to visit and get to know each other.

(I know this picture is not the most flattering for either of us,
but the alternatives were even worse...
and you can see by the picture above how beautiful she really is)

During these last few years, we have shared family, fun, laughter, and tears. She is a great friend who has sat for countless hours with me and listened to my life's complaints and my hopes and dreams, which she always supported and encouraged...no matter how crazy they were! Even when I told her we were moving, I could tell she was sad, and yet she still supports my decision. I have been so blessed to know this woman and will love her and treasure our friendship always!
