Happy Birthday Blaze

This week, my big boy Blaze turned 10! He arrived on March 27, 1998 (10 days late I might add!!) to join big sister Sierra. She was so happy to have a little brother...for a little while anyway!

We went from everything girl to all boy! Transitioning from a 4 1/2 year old to having a newborn was probably the toughest change for me in our family building days, but we quickly adjusted and he really has been such a joy!

When he was little, it would just amaze me how much of a "boy" he was....ramming his toys into everything...banging his head on the walls...making car noises as if it were a born instinct...and ready to play sports from the minute he could hold a ball!

He has always been such a happy kid and most always has a smile on his face. Just look at that beautiful mouthful of perfectly shaped teeth....who would have imagined that just a few short years later, he would have teeth growing in the strangest places and a mouth full of metal and devices to help correct it! The great thing about Blaze is that he doesn't let it get him down. He has taken it all in stride and confidently looks toward the future when his beautiful smile will once again show off a perfectly straight set of pearly whites!

He has always loved baseball. Even when he was too young to play on a team, he would hang out at Sierra's softball practices and show up all the girls with his superior hitting skills!

Blaze is has a real love for his family and is always the one I can count on to help me out (many times without my having to ask). He loves to have things neat and organized and his bedroom is probably the one room in our house that is almost always clean!

He has a real love for music and has been playing the piano for a couple of years now. He really likes it when he learns to play a song that has a good beat or that he knows the tune! He hopes to be able to play the piano in church someday. He also hopes to learn to play the drums and maybe march in the band someday.

He also loves the mountains, camping, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, and being outdoors. He tells me he is going to live in Wyoming when he grows up and would actually prefer (as would I) that we lived there right now!

He has grown to be a boy who at 10 years old has a definite plan for his life, and I know that he is 100% capable of attaining each and every one of his goals! We are so blessed to have been sent such a wonderful spirit to join our family and I truly love watching him grow and learn every day and I can't wait to see what the next 10 years of Blaze's life will bring!

Happy Birthday Blaze!! I can't believe how much he looked like Colt does now in some of those pictures from when he was a toddler. Wow they grow up so fast.
