The kids always have a great time at Freedom Park!

Whether it's climbing the kid-sized "rock" wall...

Crossing the wiggly, jiggly....thingys? (I'm not really sure what the official name for these structures are...but the kids love them!)...

Again...climbing to the highest point possible...

or trying their best to make each other puke (or fall down when they get out of the bucket!)...It's kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but these buckets actually do spin pretty fast and Blaze and Sierra were making it their personal mission to make sure that they were spinning as fast as they possibly could!

There are always fun times to be had at Freedom Park!

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL OPENING DAY

Saturday was the "official" start of our baseball/softball season this year, although the kids have been practicing for a couple of months already, this is the first time I got to see them all dressed up in their uniforms. This year, we have a rainbow of colors for our teams, and speaking of rainbows...we will be "tasting the rainbow" of Sierra's team this year. Their name is the "Mad Skittles!" So cute! Sadly, it is her last year to play, so we are thoroughly enjoying watching and experiencing the great player she has become.

PLAYER STATS:

BLAZE Team: Mets Position: Pitcher/Short stop
SIERRA Team: Mad Skittles Position: 2nd Base
JETT Team: Marlins Position: Outfielder

Opening day always consists of singing of the National Anthem and throwing of the first pitch, followed by introduction of all the teams. The Palm Springs Power AAA Baseball Team is always really supportive and the "Ram" always shows up to wish us a good season and hand out free tickets to Power games. This year, Jett was lucky to catch a cute picture with him! Kolt got a handshake, but was too shy to join in the picture. Later, Jett had his first real game. Unfortunately, his team lost, but by only 1 run. It's so fun to watch those little boys play "big boy" baseball. As Sierra and I were watching, the other team's player got a pretty good hit and rounded 1st, the outfielder promptly got the ball to the second baseman on Jett's team (good!)...however, he wasn't really sure what to do with it and in the meantime, the runner couldn't decide if he wanted to stay on 2nd base or go on...the perfect opportunity for an easy out...every parent in the crowd and the coaches too are yelling "tag him, tag him, tag him!"...but the poor boy in all of his excitement and adrenaline couldn't quite get his glove on the other player. As the two players chased each other around the bases, we smiled and enjoyed how cute they are trying to be big boys...then Sierra says to me..."How come it's not cute when I mess up anymore?"
