First Day of School

YAY it is finally here! The First Day of School. All of the kids have been anxiously awaiting this day...the boys pretty excited and Sierra...mostly nervous! As it usually goes on the night before the first day (much like Christmas Eve) everyone was tired, but restless, and I don't think any of us got a very restful sleep...thank heaven for adrenaline to help get us up and through the day!
Jett was up at about 3:30 wandering about...and Blaze was up at 6:00 am and was showered and dressed by 6:30 followed closely by Jett, and so there was plenty of time to get in some Guitar Hero on PS2 before school.

On the opposite side of her brothers, Sierra was supposed to be up and ready to go to her first day of Seminary by 6:55, but unfortunately the first day jitters got the best of her and we didn't get out of the house until about five after seven...but we got her there and she wasn't the only late one, so that made her feel better, but when she got there she was mistaken for a Junior and pulled into the wrong class...where she sat trying to figure out how to tell someone she was in the wrong class for about 10 minutes or so!

Adrian picked her up from Seminary to take her to her first day as a "Panther" at Powell High School, and the very first day of classes at the totally brand new Powell High School building. Since she rode to school with Adrian, her first experience was being personally introduced to the Principal as "Adrian's cousin Sierra"...as he knows Adrian personally...hmmm...is that good or bad?...by the after school report, she had a good day, saw a few friends she knew from town and church, and she had homework already this afternoon.

As Sierra was getting started at school, I walked as the boys rode their bikes to their first day of school...and their very first time being able to ride bikes to school...they were so excited about that.

The boys are going to Parkside Elementary and they will go from being "Tigers" to "Lions." The school is just a couple of blocks from the house. It is such a cute little school, with only 2 classes per grade and only about 18-20 kids per class! I am so glad that Blaze won't have to be in a class of 35-40 5th graders this year! His class has only 18 students and he is so excited because the 5th graders get to go on a ski trip and on a camping trip to Yellowstone for 3 days!

Jett went straight for the monkey bars, of course, and Blaze stood anxiously by me until the bell rang.

After school report was that they both had a very good day and they thoroughly enjoyed their home cooked food for lunch! Blaze and Jett both made some friends on their first day, had a great time, and are looking forward to tomorrow!
