Commuting in Wyoming

So I managed to get myself a job in Cody, where in my original moving plan was where we were going to settle in. As it is turning out, Mike now has a job here in Powell, and we have decided to register the kids for school in Powell, and we are also going to stay with Grandma Esperanza for a while...also in Powell...all of which leaves me with a 30 mile per day drive to work and some second thoughts on my new job. Fortunately, it is a beautiful 30 minute drive from Powell to Cody with no stop lights, just the open road...

and maybe an occasional "Wyoming" traffic jam...and we do have to watch the signs around here too! This sign is posted outside the Highway Department buildings in Cody and I thought..."Only in Wyoming!"

But probably the most important thing to watch for are these "little" guys! These three were just hanging out next to the road I drive on every day. I pulled over and rolled down the window to take their picture and they seemed pretty happy to pose for me! They sure are beautiful...that is unless they happen to wander in front of your vehicle! I probably see a deer at least once or twice a week just munching along side the road and I have to pray they don't get the urge to run at the moment I'm driving by!

I actually really enjoy the ride and the 30 minutes of wind down time before walking in the door after a day of pretty stressful work, but the extra time away from the kids, the cost of daycare, along with the cost of fuel is beginning to make this job more of an expense than was expected. Fortunately, I have been blessed with circumstances that will make it possible and necessitate that I resign (I really don't want to use the word "quit" because I don't feel like I'm a quitter!) from this job and once again stay home and/or closer to home with the kids most of the time. I just hope that it all works out! What a crazy time in my life...it seems that nothing is staying the same for long before another change and difficult choice comes my way! I can only hope and pray that I can make it through one more tough day to get to the next great day!
