BEFORE
AFTER

For a couple of weeks now, Kolt has been begging me to give him a haircut. His bangs had reached his eyebrows, and his "side burns" had grown over his ears, reminding me of how he looked when he was born. He had so much hair, the kids called him Mowgli and his side burns went all the way down his cheek to his jawline.

Kolt's hair has always been one of his defining attributes...along with the amazing dimples of course. He did not lose his "baby" hair like most babies seem to do...it just kept growing and growing and growing. I found out later that he was actually a bit famous. A lady in our ward told me that she used to just watch and wait for us to get to church so she could see his hair every week! I know it's hard to believe, but this is NOT a wig...this is Kolt just before his first haircut at 5 months old!

Before I had Kolt, I was very adamant about my boys being clean cut, with short "boy" hair, and had always used clippers in order to cut their hair very short. Kolt's gorgeous head of hair has been touched by the clippers only once, which I sorely regretted and was totally thankful for the fact that hair grows back! He does like to keep it fairly short, and is actually kind of embarrassed about his "long-haired" baby picture, but I only use the scissors on his hair and leave it a bit on the long side, at least compared to how the other boys have their hair cut...but now that we are here in Wyoming and out of the desert heat, Blaze wants his hair longer and Jett is caught between us begging him to wear it longer because it looks so cute on him, and him wanting it cut short.

Kolt was so happy and relieved to have his hair cut. As he was walking up the stairs to go get into the bath afterwards, I heard him say "ahh...that feels good!"

Oh I remember those days. I miss them. He was such a smiling baby. And those cute dimpled cheeks that I loved to kiss. What a sweetie.Tell kolt I think his hair is great either way, but he definitely looks more grown up with it cut.

You know, I am the same way about my boys' hair (I lopped off A.J.'s at nine months because it was looking a little girly with his curls in the back), but I would have to admit it would be hard to cut that hair! :)
