looking for new postsscroll on down!

It's Octo-burrrrr!

Our first snowstorm of the season is here! Thursday afternoon, we noticed a distinct nip in the air and a few white flakes drifting from the sky. The boys were VERY excited to see these little bits falling from the sky...with no idea just how many they would see by week's end! The cold wet weather continued on Friday with a bit of wind and the sparce flakes of snow melting as they hit the ground. Blaze asked me "are you sure this is going to pile up?" I told him that after dark, it will start to "pile up." So this morning became very similar to Christmas morning...not only the weather, but Jett was up at the crack of down running around the house like a wild man...."there's snow, there's snow!!" waking everybody possible. He attempted to wake me and Kolt, to which I was strongly opposed so he moved on for the time being and woke Blaze and the two of them went outside and had a snowball fight at 7:30 in the morning!! It was barely light out! It wasn't long before they came back in and woke Kolt and forced me out of my nice cozy bed. So our entire Saturday went something like this

...Coats on, socks on, shoes on, "I can't find any gloves," "where's my hat," look for hats and gloves...can't find any...use socks as mittens (hey it works in a desperate situation), go outside, snowball fight, get cold, get wet, come inside and throw wet clothes on the floor, step in wet snow on the floor, wet clothes in the dryer, have some hot cocoa, "where's my coat," "In the dryer," coats on, wet socks on, soaked shoes on, "I'm going out," "Wait for me!," build a snowman, "I'm ready to come in," "Can I have some more hot cocoa?", shovel the sidewalk, it keeps on snowing....

What a great day! It has been so long since I have been able to experience a day like this. The snow is so beautiful and I love the exhilarating feeling of the cold air...the peaceful feeling at twighlight with that glow that just doesn't exist at any other time! Sierra watched out the window amazed as the snow fell for hours and hours today, and the boys were thrilled to experience their VERY first snow and build their first snowman, which turned out absolutely fabulous!

Those smiles are priceless, and I thought I was cold last night! It was in the 50's here last night and mid 70's during the day. Oh how I feel for our poor desert friends but it is so nice to get to experiance FALL!!! It too has been a long time coming for us. Glad to see that you are all happy and well!

Nooooo... there is no competition in pumpkin carving. Only joy. The joy is in the carving. May I suggest a LARGE pumpkin if you really want a cool picture. I miss you.
